This week in the comments
A very quiet week, with only 14 comments in the sample, centered on Sephiroth's new voice, the outfits and general excitement. The tone is mixed: some hype, but a fair share of reservations.
Sephiroth's new voice splits opinion
~30% of this week's comments are about the recast: some find it jarring or "awful", others expect to get used to it. One fan misses the previous actor, who isn't in this game.
Outfits draw mixed reactions
~15% of comments mention the new outfits: "goofy" for one, "fire" for another about Cloud's magical-girl look. Low volume, sharp opinions.
Skydiving and wider FOV win praise
One commenter notes a much wider field of view than before and finds the skydiving great fun. A lone voice, but specific and positive.
Simple hype, a few flat refusals
~20% of comments are pure excitement ("future FF games should be like this"). On the flip side, one says they can't get into it despite how clean it looks.
Top reactions and controversies
Finale hype and nostalgic fervor
Dominant takeMany talk about 30 years of FF7, "staying alive until spring 2027" and booking time off. A deeply emotional crowd counting down the days.
Physical disc: the community's red line
ControversySince late August, "no disc, no buy" has dominated. After news that the disc won't hold the full game (download required), anger spiked: many want 2-3 discs like the first two games.
OG fans vs. the remake divide
ControversyA sizable group finds the remake bloated or unfaithful to the original, while others defend the trilogy. Tone, voices (Red XIII) and marketing fuel the divide.
Weapons, Highwind and exploration hype
Dominant takeThe Weapons, the submarine, Knights of the Round and the Highwind skydive thrill fans. Ruby and Emerald designs get plenty of attention.
Mai/Chadley: the hand-holding backlash
ControversyAfter the demo, many ask for an option to mute Mai, icons and checklists. The complaint targets constant guidance rather than the amount of content.
